Project funding under the umbrella of the National Research Platform for Zoonoses
Since 2010, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has been funding pilot and cross-sectional projects in zoonoses research under the umbrella of the National Research Platform for Zoonoses. In 2014 and 2016, respectively, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Federal Ministry of Health were added as sponsors. Since 2019, the funding spectrum has been expanded to include interdisciplinary doctoral projects.
Project proposals for innovative pilot projects, interdisciplinary doctoral projects and networked cross-sectional projects can be submitted continuously via the National Research Platform for Zoonoses. You can find more information under "Research Funding".

The aim of the zoonoses platform is to intensify networking between the research groups working on zoonoses in human medicine, veterinary medicine and infection biology at university and non-university locations in Germany. At the same time, research is to be promoted on cross-site and cross-thematic projects as well as the improved usability of research results. Another goal is to establish and promote cooperation between science and the public health system.
Interdisciplinary exchange in zoonosis research
As an overview of the pilot and cross-sectional projects funded under the umbrella of the Zoonoses Platform, a detailed brochure on all projects and events of the Zoonoses Platform was published in December 2013.
